Accidental install of full Unity when want only free version

I searched the forums for an answer but couldn’t find anything. I asked about this at Unite in SF but don’t recall the answer.

I wanted the free version for doing tutorials but installed the full version with a trial period instead. Now I’m finally making time to get into Unity tutorials and the trial version has expired. I uninstalled it and installed the free version but it “remembers” that I had the trial version and won’t boot. License days remaining: 0. I see the Unity splash screen and an option to renew but nothing happens when I click the button.

I’m stuck. I can’t get the free version to work. What’s next? I intend to buy the pro version when I get to that point by summer but can’t now.

As of 2 - 2012 you can upgrade to Unity 3.5 and it seems to have solved this problem, at least for me :slight_smile:
