God when there is only 3 people making a game things take a long time to get done. Here is a quick look at some of the new features we have been busy working on.
-Mini boss battles
-Level selection menu
-New interactive tutorial
-Power mode HUD change <----this is bad ass btw
We are working hard to get this update done. We have put a lot of time into making this a really awesome experience and we hope that you guys like what we have done. I plan on getting a video of some gameplay up in the next few nights that will show off all the new updates.
Here is a couple of new screen shoots.
Thanks xtremepman, but we are already in the long and boring task of testing, polishing, and balancing out the weapons/enemies/bosses. We plan on releasing a beta version on computer for people to test, so when it’s up any feedback would be awesome.
Thanks GeneBox, we tried to make sure the game is really colorful and fun to look at. Next is making sure all the sound effects match the theme of the art style and hopefully get a playable build for people to play and give us some feedback on.
I have updated the main post with our first teaser trailer. We will be adding 1 more teaser and 2 full length trailer in the coming weeks. One will be fully animated and the other will be a mix of real world and cartoon. We are working with a visual effects company to make these awesome trailers.
Finally got around to making a playable computer version of the game. Give it a try and leave some feedback if you can, or just enjoy playing it. Sorry for the slow download speed, running it through drop box at the moment.
The tutorial - Are you meant to press the buttons when the arrows are there? I wasnt sure if it was just pointing out the location with a long pause or you were meant to press it (eg. For the bomb one I waited a long time because I didnt want to accidentally use a bomb if I wasnt meant to!)
The rotating has a bit of lag to it (for me) once you stop pressing the key - ie. I would hold A to spin left then release it when the crosshair was in line with an object I wanted to hit but it would continue spinning for a bit meaning I would go past it. Not sure if that is just my computer though?
Overall it is really good though! I think the graphics style and gameplay really work well together and looks quite polished.
Ok - Update.
Just played it again to try and work out if I missed the store.
When I first loaded it, it went straight into the tutorial and then the game (waves of enemies). When I loaded it again, it went to the main menu (story mode, escape etc).
Also - I have now found the store but I think it would be worthwhile if you could access it while you were playing (instead of having to quit the game to get to it)
MickM -
The tutorial is still being flushed out for the pc build. The icons are for the mobile version of the game. Forgot to remove them in the pc version.
The lag you are noticing is actually a feature, lol. It is an ease in and ease out when you press and let go of the spin. So you when you start to spin it will gradually get faster instead of having a constant speed. Same with the slow down. I’ll adjust it to speed down a little bit faster but if enough people don’t like it then I will just scrap the ease out effect and just have it stop when you let go. We were just trying to get rid of the popping feeling when you would start and stop the spinning.
Also, we had a version with the store inside of the game and while it was a good idea we felt that the money you got per round wasn’t enough to buy upgrades. Maybe we will add in something in an update for a quick store buying option but it just created to much strain when we had it inside of the game. We use to have it as a separate scene but people didn’t like waiting to load in and out of the game.
Thanks though for the comments.
stephanvdw - Thanks, glad you played it an hour. It feels good knowing that you enjoyed it that long.
Updated the web player to have a sleek new background and form fill out section. Updated the main page to now have links to the ios app store and play game buttons.
We have taken our game down from the app store. So if you have tried to click our app store link it doesn’t work at the moment as we gear up to re-release our new version. You can play the most up to date version on the website still so play it before it’s too late!
