`ActivateTrigger.target' is a `field' but a `type' was expected

Hello - sorry, I’m trying to learn to use Unity properly, but it’s taking me a while to get the hang of scripting.

I’m not sure how to resolve this error:

Assets/Standard Assets/Scripts/General Scripts/ActivateTrigger.cs(53,33): error CS0118: ActivateTrigger.target' is a field’ but a `type’ was expected

This error just pops up in the start up screen, and if I open up any new project.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

That line tells you a bunch of things:

ActivateTrigger.cs - the file where the error is happening

(53,33): the line and character where the error is occurring (so check line 53 to see what’s happening).

CS0118: A C# error code that you can search on Google for.

So you have a script with an error in it, and Unity won’t let you play your game until you resolve this error.
