AdMob for Unity-Android App - Advice for starters

Hello,

i am days away from publishing my second app, this time with AD’s. I am a beginner in that regard.

I’d like to use AdMob to view Ad’s in my Unity-Android App and already included the code with all needed Id’s and so forth in my project.

Is there someone, who has some experience in this regard?

I used Unity AD’s before, which worked like a charm, but after reading, that Unity’s fraud-detection algorithm is unstable und the payment might be off, reseted or the account could be marked as fraudulant without any reason, i don’t wanna risk my project and account using Unity Ad’s.

My question for AdMob AD’s is:

  • When do the Ad’s appear? Does my App need to be already registered in the Google Play Store, ready for Download, in order for it to work?
  • When i need to test those Ad’s, the only way is to insert the test-Id’s, AdMob provides, in order to view at least those, correct?
  • If i use my real Ad-ID’s (for Banner, Interstitial and so on) while testing, nothing will show up, not even those test-Ad’s. Is that a correct behaviour?
  • What are the best AD’s and why. Are there real differences between Interstitial and Rewarded?
  • Are there differences in the payment amount for those different AD-types?
  • Do I need anything else for the AD payment like Google AdSense or is AdMob enough?
  • Could i optimize the payment by using or include other google services?
