Advanced level editing

So I have a question, is there some sort of advanced mesh editing in UNITY? wondering because my current game is a platformer and so things like cubes circles etc are perfect for me but how do you advanced users do it? say you wanted to make a castle or something inside and out, do people just make every object they put in their game in a 3d modeling and then import it into unity? seems like for something like a city would take ages to complete. Let me know what you guys do or how you develop your levels.

That’s what 3D modeling apps are for. The built-in primitives are only for prototyping and aren’t something you’d use in an actual project.

So essentially someone would make a whole scene in blender, 3ds, maya what have you, and then they would import that whole level into unity, correct?

The short answer is yes, it does take time and energy creating professional quality environments and assets for any game, including one running with Unity. It’s the nature of the business, as game development is a highly skilled and very time consuming process.
