Advice to advance Unity 3D skills?

Hello, I am looking for advice to advance into making 3D games with rpg/fps aspects and using blender to create the assets. I have completed both courses on udemy called “Learn to Code by Making Games…” and “Learn 3D modelling…” by Tristem. I have the basics down for a beginner, but I would like to become more advanced and make 3D rpg/fps games with my own game-ready 3D models. If there are any good resources or courses that can help me I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Welcome,

It sounds like you’ve got a good start on your goal. You should also check out the tutorials in the ‘Learn’ link (see top of page) as there is a lot of information to be found there you’ll find helpful.

That being said, the best way to learn is to do. Start making simple games that can be completed in a week or so. Make a few clones of flappy bird, space invaders, asteroids and simple games along these lines. You probably have ideas for games you want to make badly. These are most likely way too large in scope for you to tackle as your first few projects.

Start off simple and slow. Gain experience and skills as you go. You have a lot to learn yet. Don’t attempt your ultimate game until you have the skills to actually make it happen. ‘I’ll figure it out as I go’, is not a good plan for a quality game. If your ideas for games are that good, they’ll still be good down the road, when you have experience and knowledge under your belt to actually make the games you envision.

Unity is a never-ending learning experience and every new project is a step down the path.

Good luck on all your future projects.
