Advice with texturing, lighting best practices on mobile

I’ve been working professionally as a graphic artist for quite some time and I’m not new to 2D SDK’s or 3D programs, but I’m borderline intermediate now with Unity and I’m wondering: What are some texturing/shader/lighting tips and tricks to making your models really pop and stand out on iOS and android? I’m not talking about a texture style per se, more of how to prevent the models from looking so flat against the background! Any links to tutorials would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Have you downloaded Madfingers sample scene from the unity blog post? …good techniques revealed

Thanks very much I’ll check that out. I discovered Beast Lightmapping too.
