Hi,
I would like pointers how to achieve the creep spread , such as the one StarCraft Zerg faction has
Essentially player builds creep cysts and are around it terrain changes texture
- I would like to use substance as material for creep so that I can animate it
- I would like to build my level out of mesh tiles instead of using Unity Terrain because I want the creep to climb up the walls
I spend a good while researching this but I did not come up with a solid lead, I’d appreciate any pointers. Thanks ahead of time!

Is the performance of re-rendering substances high enough for that?
I suggest you take a look at shaders that handle dynamic snow covered surfaces, and see how they handle it. I’d imagine it to be similar. Maybe you could edit the vertex colors of your meshes at runtime and use them to blend between two materails in the shader? Just some thoughts, I have no idea how an actual implementation of this could work.
hi. I did something simple on the floor texture.
Looks like the a shader that is using a vertex colors to determine where the spread would be and then blend the spread and the ground texture based on a hightmap texture.
Then you just need to modify the vertex colors of the mesh to control the spread.
