AI Enemy Bot

Anyone have a good reference to a good AI bot tutorial or guide? I’ve been trying multiple tutorials, but aren’t that good. Tried to make one of my own and haha it ended in failure.

That’s a tough one… it’s really a hard subject to generalize. I’ve made a few AI systems in my life and never really felt super-happy with them either. There’s people who will say use state machines, or behavior trees or anything other mechanism, but I’ve always just sorta ad-hoc-ed it.

Perhaps someone else will chime in here with some good meaty stuff that can help you. I’m always interested in learning more about this subject.

Have you tried watching Brackeys’ 2D pathfinding video?

I’m not sure, I’m just 9 and started Unity few months ago

I have made some AI in my shooters but they aren’t perfect. Do some research on Unitys NavMesh-System or A* Pathfinding for Unity, bc it’s not troubling to get into it its just really complicated when your AI has to do more and more things. You can find lots of tutorials to get started with them but as @Kurt-Dekker said it’s hard to generalize so they don’t go too deep.
