Those kinds of tool work better as standalone generators. Stable diffusion is also video memory hungry, and not a tool you’d want to run with unity editor open.
For chatgpt script generator, my brain already has this functionality built in, thank you very much.
Not all that likely that a proprietary system will provide an integrated plugin for Unity since that would be quite restricting. So naturally those are front ends of various web services or integrations of something that’s open source.
Personally I don’t like to buy freshly made tools. They need some time to become truly stable.
Also am looking forward to what Unity will present soon since at least that will likely remain available a long time.
Btw. the AI section isn’t new, is it? It contains many “traditional” AI topics like pathfinding, behavior trees and automatization of RTS units, enemies etc.
Loading it does take some time though, so if they provide a button for loading and unloading, I’d say it’s the same like with a dedicated software.
I don’t mind it but at least for the people making image assets, make a rule that AI stuff be both marked and stated as being AI, as some companies avoid it for copyright concerns. This chat GPT stuff is probably ok tho.
Some of the stuff I saw was obviously AI (here’s 1000 anime profile images that all basically look the same), but did not explicitly state AI was used.
Here is AI at it’s most ignorant(?)
The initial setup for a Chess game is nearly the opposite of what is being shown!
The A1 square, bottom left should ALWAYS be a black coloured square.
The White Queen is always on a white coloured square and the Black Queen on a black square.
The so-called AI has set this up so incorrectly. One wonders if this is the fault of AI or just a very bad/ ignorant Dev?
How does one tell?
Ehh very little sense in letting a machine-learning type of AI place the pieces themself. Unless the game is more about “without knowing what the oponent does, how do you place your pieces in ideal start formation to maximize your winning chances?” (actually an interesting question. Anyone ever took such an aproach at Chess?)
That asset does of course not scream “high quality” and the actual AI is described as “Doofus” (at least they are honest ).
If it is doofus it may actually be more fun for most people. I was damned good at chess and could even give NYC master hustlers a run for their money where they would refuse games with me but I could never beat a chess engine that was not hobbled.
