Hello, so I’m at the point now where I’m trying to create AI for my game. Now I’ve read a bit on this and found that I can try and code this myself (which I am actually trying atm), or I could use something like A* or RAIN. I’ve gotten the general idea that I believe my games best desire for AI would be in pathfinding, as it is kinda like a RTS in that the player can send pawns to collect resources or fight for them. The players character also will be doing similar as his movement will be click-to-move. But before I got too deep into this topics development I wanted to get some feedback from people who have done AI in their games and what you would recommend for my AI.
Again, the only requirements for the AI is to follow basic paths to either chase the player, attack certain points or farm materials at certain points. So I personally feel that pathfinding is probably the best way. I just haven’t attempted AI before and thought I’d get some insight to it if possible.
