Albedo

Are there any restrictions or good practices with albedo for models? A friend of mine said I shouldn’t set albedo to white or brighter than light gray and I should add albedo to max 75%. The reason is because light is getting bugged. And he said he got that information from the tutorial with 3d modeling. Is that true?

Perhaps read something like: Physically-Based Rendering, And You Can Too! | Marmoset
And: Feeding a physically based shading model | Sébastien Lagarde

There are some example albedo values under the heading “Finding Material Values” on the first link.
And under “2. Taking physical albedo value” on the second link.

Notice that fresh snow has an albedo of 80-90% brightness. You probably won’t find anything much lighter than snow
