Aliens unleashed in Train Simulator DSME - FPS Game

Hi All

When I started this Train Simulator hobby project nearly 4 years ago it was simply to learn how to create a video game in the Unity Gaming Engine as well as to learn C# coding.

I had the idea of creating a train simulator as a training objective. I had just become a member of the Durban Society of Model Engineers and I became aware that no other model engineer society, globally, had attempted to create a train simulator based on the layout and general features of their society.

If I am wrong in the assumption please leave a comment informing me of my error, I would much appreciate it.

As I am a sole developer I thought my idea would be achievable as the playing area and the assets contained therein is tiny compared to the huge playing areas and assets of the large train simulators out there.

I decided to be experimental and include a FPS game based on a steam engine pulling a weapon that I call the Steam Combat Cannon and the goal is to destroy Alien Invaders of our Planet. Not the most original plot but it allowed for a level of creativity I could not achieve in a normal train simulator.

I actually really enjoy creating this sort of stuff and as this is a hobby project it fulfills the objective of a hobby, a regular activity that is done for enjoyment.

I removed the video from YouTube as the average attention span of viewers was so low they probably never reached the Alien Invasion part. I hope to revise the video with more emphasis on the Invasion.
