All Menu and tabs on 3-5 second delay.

I have (in the last 3 days) begun receiving a 3-5 second delay in the Unity Editor. This lag occurs predictably even when a blank project is loaded. If I select the Main Camera, there is a 3-5 second lag, before the mouse click is registered. If I then Select the Viewport Rect there is a 3-5 second lag. (Once here I can select any field within the Camera Control with no lag, but cannot select any other Control or other scene object anywhere without the lag re-appearing.

Likewise selecting the rotate tool 3-5 second lag, then selecting, resize, move, etc, no lag, select the project tab 3-5 second lag.

This issue is making it effectively impossible to do anything if only because I do not have the patience of a saint. Any help in restoring the program to smooth functionality would be appreciated.

Troubleshooting steps I have taken:
Completely uninstalled Unity
Rebooted (Numerous Times)
Disabled all but the most basic services
Upgraded to the latest version

Specs:
Windows 10
GTX 980
24 gig ram
i7 6700k 4Ghz.
Unity 2017.1

Hi

A few weeks ago W10 decided to update my NVidia drivers which caused problems. It could be worth checking your system and if there’s any doubt install the latest driver (GTX 980 / 384.94 WHQL Released Mon Jul 24, 2017).

GeForce Download Page
Geforce Drivers

I opted to perform the 'clean install / driver only ’ option and it resolved the issue.

If that fails, take a look at this post for additional possibilties

Hope this helps

Reading this, I literally slapped myself in the forehead and said, “Duh!” unfortunately, no luck. I’ll read through the linked forum and see if any of that works, but thanks for the sensible answer and link. (Searching for anything relating to lag or slow in the forums is a nightmare as almost everything points to the project being the cause.

Apparently, this is the result of my Oculus Rift…

Hope there is a fix eventually.

That’s a surprise, but at least they’re aware of the issue. Hopefully a patch or Oculus runtime update will appear soon.
