All Unity games freeze randomly on my Linux computer

Hello. I am not developing with Unity, but all games I have played that are built with Unity are now randomly freezing on my computer. This can happen anywhere from a minute from launch to at least half an hour. Sound continues to play, but the game is rendered entirely unresponsive, including to the window’s close button.

My operating system is Ubuntu 16.10

I experience the same problems. It doesn’t matter if I do something in the game or not, after some time it freezes.

It happens in all my Unity3d-based games that are launched from Steam:

-Motorsport Manager
-War for the Overworld
-Wasteland 2 DC (Here the main menu and the character creation screens seems safe. The freeze only happens some time after a game was loaded)
-Satellite Reign (Here the freeze always happens in the first 5-10 seconds after launching the game. I never get into the main menu)

The corresponding Player.log files say nothing when or after the freeze happens.
