All unity projects hang on startup with plastic scm if I use server edition

Hello!

Currently I cannot open unity projects that point to a server version of plastic SCM. If I change the settings of the repo to point to the cloud-version of my account there are none such issues

Here’s the spot unity hangs each time, on ProjectBrowser.Repaint

This is the issue for me on multiple projects, and lots of different editors (all from 2020 LTS up until latest beta).

Last editor log file is attached to this post, and it mentiones FMOD 2.02 as one the latest items.
Just to clarify, I’ve been using FMOD in both cloud and server projects earlier without issue.
This issue has persisted for me since january and I simply went over to a cloud build for my smaller projects but now I want to move to my server for a bigger project.

Since I can’t really find any others having the same issue my hope is that this is simply user error, and that maybe someone can bring some insight or guidance to help me.

Also was very unsure if this is in unity or plastic’s boat - but here we are!

Thanks for reading!

I have the same issue on the latest versions you are not the only one. this is very annoying bug many people post this issue on reddit as well. Plastic scm integration caused this.

This just started for me again an hour ago. My last workaround was to start a new project in Unity and then activate PlasticSCM. This reactivates your credentials (or something) and then your actual projects will open again.

Not a long term solution but it can get you back and working.

Hi everyone, we just released 1.14.18/1.15.18 of the Version Control package with a fix that should address this Editor hang at startup and when pressing play. Can you please download the latest Version Control package via the Package Manager and see if this resolves your issue?

FYI, if you have Plastic SCM Cloud (aka the client) installed on your machine (you should, since you need it to join other projects). If you open this first and log in. The Unity Project Open hanging is not an issue. Either way, let’s hope it’s fixed for good!
