Almost no fighting games ?

Hi guys,

I’m new here, traveled through the different forums a little bit and found a whole lot of content for MMO, FPS and platform genres, but almost nothing about fighting games. I would have loved to be able to make my own version of Punchout…you all lovingly remember, right ?

But unfortunately no starter packs for this or other fighters to be found. That’s why i’m asking the pro’s here. My unity scripting skills are uber noob and i don’t think i have the time to read and learn everything before i can even start.

I know this particular game will use only 2d sprites, i’ve got that part covered i think. I can make my own.

The setup would be :

  • Intro (VIDEO)
    -match
    -cutscene (VIDEO)
    -match
    etc…for now that would be quite enough while i think of other possibilities, like rankings, titles and such.

So my questions to the pro’s :

  • which package(s) would i have to buy to make this a reality ?
  • how much would scripting cost (this includes 1 opponent AI, and requires all other scripts to be well documented so that i can make minor changes whenever i feel the need.)

I think that’s quite enough for now.

Punch-Out!! is not considered a fighting game series.

You don’t have to buy anything. You could do it with Unity and GIMP if you wanted to.

This is not appropriate for the Gossip section. You do not desire to be a Unity user, apparently, so you should post in “Commercial Work”.

Hitking, if you learn programming yourself it would be free :). You also wouln’t have to buy any packages unless you wanted to save time.
