Alpha Problems in 3.0b3

Is this a buggy beta problem or am I doing something wrong? :frowning:

I set the grass image to clamp and 64x64.
I tried a PNG and a TGA ( with an alpha channel in Photoshop ).

I noticed it does the same to the tree leaves as well…

Thanks in advance.

see nothing wrong there.
the alpha seems to be working fine

Maybe try a different shader…
Like a nature one… or even the tree leaf shader?

But, it looks nothing like the grass I made.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that this is the grass added onto the terrain using paint details.
Attached is the testing grass/weeds I made in Photoshop. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

the image below does not say anything about the alpha channel embedded

from the looks it might be that you “just used the wrong texture” (the terrain system does not exchange stuff etc)

I was just trying to show a comparison. That’s not the actual image/s I am using in Unity. But here is one I tried which gives the same results as above.

Hello again,
Does anyone know why the grass would render that way on the terrain? I keep trying. But nothing is working, ( tga, png )…I’m having a hard time trying to explain the problem. But, I thought the screen shot would help. Any one?

Take care.

the problem is I don’t see a problem.

I see an alpha texture on top of the ground which is what you get when you draw gras onto the ground …

so you should potentially explain what you expect to see that you don’t see

So comparing the little grass png that I just uploaded compared to the screenshot in my first post–you think that they look the same? :?: That it looks accurate? It looks a bit blotchy and incorrect to me. It looks nothing like the grass I painted in the png file. And I am wondering why…

Is the screenshot bad? Maybe I should upload another with just the grass in it so you can see what I am talking about?

Thanks for any help.

Here it is zoomed in. In the top left corner is an example of what it should look like, but without the black background of course. To the right is what I am getting. Blobs of green…

Could be the same issue as
http://forum.unity3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=58529 ?

If you say it happens to leaves as well, as I’ve also noticed this, but only on trees, not on grass.

Hello .Tom.,
That is exactly what I am seeing ( on the trees ). And sadly on the grass as well. :frowning:
