Love the atmosphere, I could picture something like that in an opening for a gritty war game or something. I’m not sure if you’re looking for critique or not, but it sounded pretty off-key to me in a few places–my only gripe.
I believe it’s the A string Finger 2 where it sounds outta tone, I believe it’s just the crappy steel strings on it, I’ll be getting synthetic Dominate strings here soon, that should fix the issue of the tones sounding a bit different and still giving off a Warmer sound that sounds overall better.
There are different tempo’s for amazing grace, I just did a little short version of it so I made it a little slower just to add a bit more time to it instead of 20 seconds lol.
But I take everyone’s critiques with passion, because I want to make good quality music one day, that’s why I am currently offering music for free, because I know it’s not the best, but it’s also the best way to get opinions, I know I can never please everyone, but if able I like to explain why I did certain things a certain way (such as it being slower)…
Not bad… except yes, it did sound a wee bit off-key in a couple of places. But a very good attempt I must say, kudos! I would suggest you use a proper recorder instead of just the laptop mic… the sound quality does differ a great deal.
I’ll look into getting a proper set up eventually, one step at a time, I just spent almost a grand on this violin and Ocarina I purchased. About to spend another 100 dollars on a set of Dominate Strings (They have a Warmer sound, and have a synthetic core made from Nylon) (WAY BETTER THAN STEEL STRINGS) lol.
But I’ll look into a good Microphone when i can afford it, I’ve spent a good bit of money lately just to get where I am, I have plans, big plans, I don’t expect to be a pro over night, but one day I will be good at making music, and I want good quality stuff, I’ve learned quickly that you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to instruments.
Of course, nobody becomes a pro overnight. Looking at how you’ve started and the passion you have for music, I’m pretty sure you’ll get there one fine day, sooner rather than later.
