I’m updating my hardware, possibly to an AMD cpu this time around, and wanted to check whether unity3d and associated tools are fully compatible. Am I shooting myself in the foot by going with AMD instead of Intel cpus?
Hi,
regarding compatibility, there shouldn’t be any problems.
Intel CPUs are usually recommended for gaming due to their superior single threaded performance, and Unity as a game engine is not exceptional in this regard: stronger single threaded performance will win against more cores but slower single threaded performance.
Depending on what kind of work you’ll be doing, you may or may not notice a difference.
