Hello everyone, I’m Shadow Explorer,
and i would like to show you some models from my project
it began 10 years ago by me and a good friend
and 4 years ago i started to learn 3d modeling just to make it^^
im a one man band with a few guest appearances as of now
but i know not to give up^^
this is a quite small fragment of the work done for my project^^
of course my dream is to make it into a video game, but i lack programming skills
the type of game hopefully will be a 3rd person hack and slash RPG\traditional RPG
and if possible with an online battle mode…
the other goal is to make a MRISB (massive readable illustration story book hahaha)
with the story^^
now im creating the worlds for my project
and later i will have to rig and animate the characters
thanks a lot for reading,i hope you like what you see and as always feedback is appreciated
hello Wolf Dreamer,thanks a lot,of course there is a story^^
its hard to explain it though without seeing the main heroes
and explain their bg^^ everyones a bit different and their solo stories collide
as they are meeting and moving along together
here some other chars rendered in unity this time^^
and buildings for one of the cities^^ still wip
most of them are made with softimage
there are some with 3ds max and maya
However its not the program that does the work,it just provides you the tools
I know you are using sketch up,its simple and good in its own way
but its kind of different than the standard 3d packages that you should know
and complex sketch up mesh can be a… mess… in one of those programs
with blender you could do just the same work if you cant afford a more expensive package
oh and don’t forged softimage mod tool
a free version of softimage 7.5 (if i remember correctly) for making models for mods^^
and don’t worry everyones learning…
i constantly go back and forth between old models to update them :)…
as you model, you become better make less mistakes, you have better topology etc
my main characters were the 1st models i made
needles to say how many times i completely redid them or updated them
Hell of a long time working on a single game alone (sc2 was in dev for 12 years). However it seems promising, just a concern on the amount of polys on the characters, seems like a lot for a game character, other than that it looks great.
ok i have to ask wtf do those characters, a train, a fast car, and an old house have to do with each other? Im guessing the title is a joke as this looks to be no ordinary story line…
Great work mate looks real nice, and yea your right pretty much all 3d stuffs the same, can make stuff just as good on any other program its just personal preference, though most free ones tend to get messy.
they belong to the same story, other than that none XDXDXDXDXD
the story takes place in an alternative version of planet earth (gaia) that almost every “civilization” imaginary or not, from our own earth re-imagined, coexists there in the same timeline (what did i just wrote, i hope you understand it :p)
the title is a pun
even if i can’t make it a game myself (zero programming skills),
i decided to make all the graphics, and if lucky to find help to fullfil my dream (i also have zero budget :P)
not very promising situation for game development…
if not i will make a 3d game lookalike illustrated storybook (that would happen anyway)^^
thats why the pm mr.smirve ^^
Artimese, yes some characters do have many polys
but still can be in a game
thanks a lot for your comments, and for liking my work guys
give’s me power to move on.
Models and textures are pretty good. But you should take care of the amount of polygons. Most of your models looks amazing, but are too high poly for a game. When you set up everything in your game it may be slowed down with this models.
I love your use of normals and the character’s concept. But keep an eye on the amount of polys.
