Ancient UI Bug Still Exists: (1) Move GameObj (2) Undo (3) GameObj poofs (invisible)

No need to report this within Unity (unless I can invoice since I’m confident I wasted my time reporting this same bug ~5 years ago).

Any Jr QA can repro this with ease:

  1. Drag (or otherwise change) a Canvas GameObj
  2. CTRL+Z (undo)
    3. Poof! IT’S GONE?! Well, invisible.
  3. CTRL+Y (redo) → Nope, still invisible.
  4. Workaround: CLOSE prefab or scene → Reopen. The worst, if you’re not ready to save. Since positioning or concepting requires a ton of CTRL+Z efforts, this happens way more often than it should (again, this bug has been around for years since ~5.4).

To add, this is almost identical to another bug reported in Unity ~5.4ish (found my screenie):

UI would collapse when you CTRL+Z and return when you reload the scene (visual bug). Now instead of collapsing, it just disappears with the same workaround. Could be and most likely is relevant.

Do you have the bug id for the bug you submitted in 5.4?
I did find what looks like an email you sent to bugs@unity3d.com which sounds related but this was not a bug report. It is safe to reply to an email sent from that address when communicating regarding a bug report but reporting new bugs that way will not work. The new emails will be turned into email cases internally that will never be looked at. you must use the bug reporter. Unity QA: Building quality with passion

We have no active bugs that fit your description so it looks like it has never been reported.
