Android app that detects text [questions]

Hi all,
I came up with a nice idea for such app but how do i make it ? Like are there some apps that i can modify like if it detect text ‘clock’ it then shows a gui what does it mean and stuff like this or do i need to make such app by myself from the scratch [because since google released the google translator feature that does it i notice a lot of different apps like to do math solutions and all that so maybe there is some template or to use google translator for this or something ]
If there isnt template or anything like this any idea how i could make it inside unity ? or there are some other ways to create this kind of app :?

Search for ‘Vuforia’. It’s an AR plugin for Unity. One thing it can do is detect words. You should know that it only detects words in a specific, given font, so it may not work quite the way you’re hoping.

Downloaded it and wow it looks so confusing i dont know anything, should i do it in Unity or Android because on their website i can download it for Android and Unity. All i wanna do is to know how to make so if it detects for example 2+2 then it should display 4 [thats just example because i wanna make it just text for example you take picture or use camera live to capture and it detects the word’ camera’ and then it shows short definition whats camera about.

It’s much easier to use in Unity, plus you’d be able to port to iPhone in the future.

Follow their tutorials & examples, then come back here if you have more specific questions.

Thanks for helping but i think i will just leave this ‘idea’ cuz it looks like so much work and so confusing to do just simple detection to make it detect for example just word ‘camera’ and then show up definition of camera.

It looks like you were hoping that this app already existed and you could just download it, slap your name on it, and release it? Honestly, it’s not going to get any easier than it is with Vuforia. If you want it to be any easier, you’ll have to hire a professional developer to do the work for you.

I mean i didnt wanted to download it cuz there isnt such app ‘with that idea what i have’ but all i need for this app to recognize text and detect words as i said before thats all i need doesnt need to be super extra builded but this vuforia is complicated and lack of tutorials on google so it will take me a lot of time to first understand that all then make it.
