Android Default Icon Question

Hi,

In the player settings, we have the Default Icon, and further down the list we have an Icon Panel, where you can Override for Android, what is the difference ? I’ve read for google play, they need a 512 x 512 icon, is that what the Default Icon is, or is it simply the 96 x 96 version ?

My assumption here is I provide an Icon at 512 x 512 as the Default Icon, and all other icons are auto generated, and the 512 x 512 icon is provided mainly for google play ?

My secondary assumption is the Default Icon is 96 x 96, and all other icons are auto generated, the google play 512 x 512 icon is provided at a later time ?

The override for android is for people who simply want more control of their icons at smaller resolutions, yes ?

Thanks

512 x 512 Google play icon is a separate thing that you upload via Google Play

Thanks, I thought it was.

So, the Default icon, 96 x 96 ? Or something else ?

Regards

Ok, so I tested this by uploading an image 1024 x 1024 into the Default Icon slot, it accepted it, but within the Override settings, the icons are all then added based on the Default Icon slot, the biggest obviously being 96 x 96, from that, I can only assume the Default Icon at it’s biggest should be / is 96 x 96 in size.

Can anyone confirm I should be uploading 96 x 96 images into the Default Icon slot, or go bigger under the assumption that bigger would create better lower resolution icons ( in the override icons section, the lower res icons are awful based on the Default Icon, so I may end up using that function only ).

EDIT : Ok, not sure why no one can help out with this, I’m going with 96 x 96 ( and smaller resolutions, 72x, 48x, and 36x ), utilising the override icons section and setting my icon .png’s as GUI textures to get round the awful degradation if I just added them as is. Leaving this here, should anyone else have problems and search for the same thing.

Regards.
