Hey guys,
we are currently working on a pixel art mobile game and encountered a very weird issue.
I have a Huawei P30 Pro mobile phone and when first starting the app, the resolution is fine as designed, but everytime i restart the app, the resolution suddenly changes and stays like that forever.
This only happens on my phone though. My wife has an old Huawei phone and the resolution always stays the same, and our coder doesn’t have this issue either on his phone…
As i’ve seen when researching on Google, there are a few (kinda) similar reports, but i haven’t found exactly this case, yet. It seems, that my mobile phone is automatically adjusting the resolution of the app, but how can we change the code to prevent that from happening?
Maybe my phone has some pixel reduction or power saving mode, but other apps don’t have this issue and always look the same… (The power saving mode is unchecked of course)
Anyway… here are the exact reproduction steps:
-install apk
-start app >> game resolution is on 1080x2265 (564) >> everything sharp and pixel perfect
-play for 3 seconds
-press the android button to show active apps
-swipe away the running app from background apps
-app is now closed
-start app again >> different resolution 720x1510 (501) >> sprites are messed up
Let me know if you guys need further details, we are really happy for any hints or advice on how to solve this.
Big thanks in advance for anyone trying to help.
