I know android is a hugely talked inquery, but Ive been researching for a while now and am not finding any clear help or understanding on how to set up a dpad on a touchscreen. Does anyone have any source I could work off or any info to help direct me? Does Joystick work for this situation?

Import the Standard Assets(Mobile) package, there are some example scenes on there that are configured and can be used with Android, this helped me learn some basics for configuring Android controls. Yes, a joystick is what you’ll be using.
