Android/IOS continue running script while another activity is running

Hello, we are having a problem with our game. We want to continue our game to run when we open other android/ios activities. Such as Facebook sharing, ads being show, community systems such as KTPlay. This is because we want to alert players when a multiplayer match is available and play a sound.

However at this time the problem is when anything opens all code logic stops.

I’ve checked for Time.timescale = 0 is being set. But no such luck. I’ve set the app runInBackground to true, but that doesn’t work either. My test has both used a Coroutine that’s just counting in the background, and an update look doing the same. However when facebook modal window opens, or anything else the count stops.
