Hey all !
Really quick, thanks for taking time to help me out. I looked around the forums for a few… maybe I just was using the wrong phrasing? I just didn’t find what I was looking for. (Please forgive if repost and maybe point me in the right direction?)
I just have a couple generic questions concerning the Keystore. I just finished up making my first APK to upload to google, yadda yadda yadda… These are basically mistakes I did and had to correct, just looking to see the ways of doing it correctly, compared to my way I did it. Here we go.
I misunderstood the App Linking for google. I created two different projects by just copy/paste… apparently I corrupted the files because it was matching duplicate files and wouldn’t build… (lesson learned) I am pretty sure you can find those and fix this, but for someone who isn’t really too confident in deleting things that I dont know what are for just yet…
My question for this problem is: Can you just make a copy of the current .Keystore file for backup? Copy/paste it to a backup folder?
- for example, my keystore was corrupted… i just simply switch out the old for the current updated backup?
Another mistake I accidentally did was building the APK out without putting in my publisher passwords on accident… it immediately messed up google play 100%… No matter if I just reconfigured it with Google Play Setup… or re-imported the package… nothing… I had to literally redo all of my Android Developer stuff from scratch… yuck… never again… lol
My question for this problem is: If you accidentally build the APK without the publisher passwords… there is no way to save the Keystore? It automatically becomes corrupted and unusable? I have to restart everything?
*** Unless my question from above works, and you can have backups to just replace the corrupted one. If it didn’t, how do you fix this without having to redo all the Android Developer stuff?
THANK YOU!
