Hello Unity Community, where an indie group of a few people that have started making a game in unity over the past month or so. We have now finished the core of the game which will be a simple game in the style of table games you play with your family or friends and we would now like to have people testing it and telling us what they think needs improving or what would be fun additions. The game will be free on android, but it will not be released on ios, at least not at the start since we do not possesses the necessary tools for it.
Please note that the music and GUI are only placeholder’s and will be completely changed later on. The 3d art is not final the shaders will probably change as well as some other thing during the development of this game.
Thats one simple but enjoyable game, probably you should target the kids because i don’t think any adult would play it.So try to texture the models and the environment regarding to that.
Btw the forum SUCKS! Definetely it does. Its really the worst part you can ask for feedback. No one answer it.I don’t know why.
Seems unfair that Paul wins because he takes the last straw out, while John got more points. Most balls captured should equal win, imo. Also environmental themes seem a bit random as they don’t have any impact on the game itself, perhaps make it so, like desert environ adds sand in the gizmo or something similar. That it’s the same gizmo in all environs isn’t too interesting and could be a nice way to add more mechanics to the game, which ATM is quite basic.
I actually prefer the scoring structure as it is. It’s very reminiscent of Jenga. I had fun with it.
A simple criticism: It took me a while to figure out that you remove the pins by dragging the cursor horizontally along the bar at the bottom. Maybe you should consider putting some explanatory text on the bar. “Drag to remove pins” Or add a ‘How to Play’ section to the main menu like they do in XBLA games.
Thank you for the feedback!
The texture and models will be changing to suit a more “kid” like theme. Most of these models were placeholders to start on coding. The game will also be geared for adults when we add more features in future updates.
Haha, yea not sure why not to much feedback is given in the forums but are there other forums that are better suited for feedback?
Thank you for the feedback!
Seems we forgot to mention the goal of the game. Sorry about that. Actually the person with the least amount of balls win. It is more of a strategic game, as you want to pull the stick that will avoid releasing balls. When it comes down to a few sticks left, it gets pretty intense trying to avoid that last stick being pulled and releasing all the balls.
In regards to the theme having textures based on the theme, that is also going to be in the final release. Most of these textures are just here to present the game and its functionality.
Thank you for the feedback!
Sorry about that. The game is actually more for the mobile and use of swiping your finger across. However, we will be changing the “sliding bar” to resemble a more direct drag bar. But adding some tips on the first play is a great idea. Thanks!
