In collaboration with ExitGames I’ve been developing a multiplayer version of the official Unity demo; Angry bots. This demo now shows the power of Unity AND Photon. The multiplayer is implemented using the new Photon Unity Networking plugin that is a result from the same collaboration.
You can play the game via Wooglie.com.
The source code of this modification will be available (for free) soon.

awsome!!!, only when i die i keep spawning at the same place, you might want to change that
Sweet. Is it be authoritative? How are the AI units handled?
AI is still in (check the game), it’s using the PUN masterclient concept. the masterclient owns the AI and “steers” there.
It’s not fully authorative: The masterserver is authorative over ALL health, but player are still ‘owner’ of their own movement,
Super awesome demo. Good work, everyone. I had a quick question for you. If I wanted to build and run the game, could I use my computer as a server and just have my friends at work connect to me? Kind of like with the BootCamp demo?
-thanks a ton,
Richard
Very nice!
Sorry, i know nothing about networking, but do I need to have my computer online, or buy a server to have clients connect and play my game?
Thanks!
Please make a detailed tutorial (PDF) about this modification and sell it in the Asset Store and I will buy it for sure.
Cool! I’d love to hear how hard this was - how long, how difficult, what had to change. Summarize if you’re too busy to post detail. Also, a link to more complete docs (introducing PUN at least) would help first-timers get kicked off.
Very nice man, and will be FREEEE awesome
I have a question. Am I able to use just a few of the assets in my own game? Or do you guys not want anyone using any of the assets for profit. I don’t mean sell them, but have them in a game that is making money from.
So I assume this will work on mobile devices too? Or is it just going to work for desktops? Having a ready to go multiplayer for mobile would be awesome! And for free – ever better!
You should be able to use anything from the angry bots demo in your game, as long as you don’t sell the actual assets.
PS I love your location.
That’s good to hear, I have no used a few of the assets in my game on www.wooglie.com. If you want to check out the game, here is the link…
Also, Thanks…
