Anim-Boost: Combat Civilians by Ruffian Games [RELEASED]

Version 1.2 now available

In the Anim-Boost Combat Civilians pack you get 221 bipedal animations for:

  • locomotion; walks, runs, turns, strafing more
  • unarmed punch and kick combat variations
  • civilian / NPC idle and ambience variations
  • death variations
  • combat hit reactions

You also get two ready to run Scenes, a Mecanim character controller, an animation previewer, two full character models and an environment block which gives you a complete example of how to set-up the animations for a basic brawler style gameplay.

We’d welcome your feedback and look forward to bringing you more functionality in future versions.

Looks Great

Any chance of a Demo with just NPCs walking about?

Yep, NPCs are something we will be adding in a future version. We did originally have them in the demo but we had to remove them as we weren’t able to include the UnitySteer library in the package. Once we come up with a workaround we’ll add them back in.

Thanks for the nice comments so far too.

Looks good, but the limitations of the demo prevent us from seeing all the animation available in the Combat Civilians pack.

You may want to create a simple showcase with a single character model and GUI buttons to activate each animation.

Thumbs up!

+1

Thanks, we’ll put that on the feature list too.

We’ve added an animation previewer to our web-page so you can preview all the animations in the pack now.

We’re going to submit a new version of the asset with the previewer included to the asset store in the next couple of days, plus some other fixes and additions as requested. Thanks again for the feedback.

thanks for adding preview it really helps !

Very nice!

Is this the Ruffian Games in Dundee?

Yes, we’re in Dundee.

Ah the joys, I was just up visiting at the weekend past. Easily my favorite place in UK, I didn’t realize it until I left though. Anyway, good luck!

The animation previewer is a big improvement! Without it, I wouldn’t be aware of all the NPC ambient animations included in the pack.

Nice work, Jimaroid!

I love this pack!!! I hope you guys make more packages available in the future

This looks great!

Have you considered adding Shooting animations and Sword Slash animations?

We’ve submitted version 1.2 this morning, just waiting for review this week.

Key changes will include:

  • The addition of the animation previewer scene as above
  • Fixed the NPC animation import settings to all be humanoid
  • Added some simple NPCs and variations to the demo, Scene1.
  • Addressed some quality issues with the Unarmed Run and Sprint

You can try these updates on our website as we’ve updated the builds there ahead of asset store review: http://www.ruffiangames.com/anim-boost-combat-civilians/

Will we be doing more things like this in the future? If this is successful, yes we’d like to.

Have we considered Shooting and Sword Slashes? Again, yes, if this first foray is successful. We would like to add more so watch this space.

That’s version 1.2 available on the store now, as above. Enjoy!

And we’ve added a video demo now too: http://youtu.be/WbxJai7ix8c

Are you planning to release more animations in a new set? This set seemed pretty popular.

Hopefully, if this one sells well enough and there are particular animations in demand we can do more. We’ll see how it goes over the next couple of months.

This pack is on my wish list! I’d really like to see it in action, I’ve viewed it on your web player multiple times. Are is there any videos of people using these animations other than the one on your youtube?

so I searched “ruffian games” on youtube and saw the remake of “streets of rage” would that game play be something I could achieve with the purchase of this project pack alone or am I just wishing for too much here? haha
