Animate mecanim character only from script


Is it possible in Unity 4.2 to animate mecanim character only from script, affecting its bones/rig ? I’d like to have e.g. default T-Pose character and no animations exported from Blender/Max/Maya. Then I’d like to have in code for example: MoveLeftArmUp(float height, Quaternion rotation) and this would move left arm.
Is it possible with Mecanim API ?


Ok, I was able to influence any bone I wanted. Just enough was using LateUpdate.
