Animate Mesh Deformation

In 2d games artists can make animations in which object deforms in an unproportional way. Imagine a washing machine which shakes, its top is ben downward when it jumps up. I just found this:

It won’t be the same/easy but I want to do the deformation in unity. But I think it will make the game look very good/childish. Can you give advice.

You’d probably get the best results by using Mega-Fiers (Mega-Fiers | Modeling | Unity Asset Store), which is a paid product, or Meta Morph (MetaMorph Animation Kit | Animation Tools | Unity Asset Store) which is free and includes source code to study.
