what do you guys think of my animated smoke particles?
I can even give you guys the 6x8 (total of 1535x 2048 resolution) animation frame with a total of 48 frames.
I’ve some suggestions for the texture.
1535px texture can’t be DXT compressed, because DXT compression requires the width/height being multiple of 4.
Unity silently works around this issue by either re-scaling the texture, 1535x2048 might become 1024x2048 or 2048x2048 or falling back to an uncompressed format. Re-scaling often introduces artifacts and big uncompressed textures require a lot of band-width, both things we usually want to avoid.
In order to use a texture on iOS, without Unity messing with re-scaling etc, it must be square and power-of-two, such as 1024x1024 for example.
Providing textures with these (hardware) restrictions in mind, can improve rendering performance and visual quality at the same time.
Well I did do a second animation and didn’t put it all in one texture so all the frames are in a 256x256 resolution.

Looks excellent. Should be even better after @Peter77 suggestions.
