So I’ve got got a sprite-sheet all sliced up and ready to animate. The problem is that whenever I open the animation window, all the buttons are grayed out except for the play button, which does nothing. Dragging the frames into the animation window also doesn’t do anything (I get the circle with a line through it symbol when I try to drop my frames into the animation).
How do I get the animation window to work?
Thanks!
You need to select the object that you want to animate. If you want to animate an object named “Player”, click on player in the Heirarchy or scene. Then the Animation functions will not be grayed out.
Very simple to fix, but very frustrating when you don’t know
Good Luck!

For those who wondering this in 2018+.
In Timeline window deselect “Preview”, which is turned on by default, and then record button in Animation window will be available, as well as Preview in Animation window
tnx… realy tnkyou very much
