Does anyone have any pointers on where to start in making animation events work in post 4.3 versions. I’ve tried it the old way (using the animation view) hoping that perhaps they had reused that way for the mecanim capability they added in at 4.3. That kind of worked but was mostly a dismal failure. Not surprising since most (but unfortunately not all) sections are marked as legacy. I’m guessing it was nothing to do with the new capability for animation events. So what is the trick to use the new Animation Events for mecanim?
If docs have been released, please let me know where to look. Google points to the old method, and where there are citations returned that mention 4.3 mecanim animation events, they go to either dead page links or 4.2 information.
I assume there is no documentation on this. Has anyone been provided a expected date of release for the docs.
Honestly, I don’t even care to have formal docs, just a thumbnail of where to look would be good enough. If possible, it would be very cool if one of the developers could provide a simple post to that end.
I noticed that people have popped up with questions recently on the “Answers” and the responses suggested that the Animation Window has been fully modified to all entry of events. The documentation for it suddenly appeared with references to mecanim so I think we have our official update.
This is a pro-only reference but if you look here, it discusses using GetFloat from curves. I was going to test this out.
I am not sure why I don’t see this post here, but someone else replied to this thread and I received the notification. It was Username: AlkisFortuneFish and what he said was:
I’m sure it will eventually appear, but I thought it might be pertinent to others following this thread.
