Hey, i’ve made animations for my character in 3dsMax - Idle, Walk, Running, Attack, etc. - each in individual .max file. How i can put all of these animations in one .fbx file (one timeline)? I’ve tried Animation->Save Animation and then do Load Animation in “master” .max file, but i got “No tracks are mapped. Create Map File?” - even when i click Yes, i don’t understand what to do next.
Are there any tutorials for exporting animations from 3dsMax like this? I mean putting all animations to ONE timeline, which from i would export .fbx file.
Did you use bones or Biped or Cat?
If you have used biped you should use the Motionmixer to load the bip files you have created, that way they will be at the same timeline as you said.
I’ve used CAT. I can go to Animation → Save animation, store it in .xaf file and then load each one into “all animations” file - there i can insert animation on desired starting keyframe and put them all in one timeline this way. But when i try to load .xaf, i get this “No tracks are mapped. Create Map File?” and i have no idea what to do next ![]()
I’m new in animation, maybe there is better way to import animations to Unity? But i see that most people are using one .fbx file with ALL animations stored in one timeline - then separate these in Unity, by typing the start/end keyframes.
Ok, info for others with the same problem:
I’ve just found another way to export animation: just save each animation as separate .fbx file with correct name, e.g. Player@idle.fbx, Player@walk.fbx, etc. Then set this up like in this video i’ve found: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYaYEfMvGuc (at about 8th minute)
