I am working on a project that includes quadruped characters. I am experiancing issues when exporting from Cinema 4D, the IK animation sequences to Unity. Different import/export settings both via the C4D > Unity Pro plugin, and the FBX format haven’t helped so far. I’m testing the FBX file on other 3D animation programs and it seems to be fine.
Can Unity read IK chains of quadruped characters? Is there some tutorial that would explain how to create the rig, so that it is compatible?
Simple IK/FK chains and characters with 2 legs are working fine for me. I have read previous posts, but wasn’t able to find an answer. Looking foward for some input as to move to the correct direction.
It seems that in the past … Mixamo has always had some small support for quadrupeds, which is a difficult technology. They were trying to cover quadrupeds more and more as time goes on…
However as everyone knows very sadly,
#in 2015 Mixamo was bought-out by the most hated company in the industry, Adobe…
It’s possible that Adobe have eliminated the quadruped systems. These days you can’t actually find the horses, dogs etc for sale on Mixamo, as far as I can tell.
Hope it helps.
You need only google “Mixamo quadrupeds” to see this,
