Animation problem (430648)

Hi there,
I’m having a problem with a character animation made in Maya: the timeline contains several moves (eg: 1-20 walk, 30-50 jump etc) but the frames in the Split Animations Tab doesn’t correspond to the original timeline…

any advice would be very appreciated

thanks a lot :slight_smile:

a.

P.S:I’ve baked the animations in maya and exported the .mb file

Are you using Maya 2011 (or FBX 2011 plugins)?

Recently we have discovered a problem that Unity imports framerate incorrectly from the tools above. IT always imports 30FPS, so if you set your FPS to 30 in Maya, then you should be able to pick correct frames.

This bug is fixed and the fix will be available in next Unity.

HI Paulius,
yes I’m using Maya 2011 with a framerate of 24FPS… so now I’ll follow your instructions!

thank you very much for helping :slight_smile:

I wanted to quick chime in here to state that we are having the same problem, but switching to 30FPS is not fixing it. I went into Preferences->Time Slider->Playback Speed, and set it to “other” at 30FPS. Is this the correct place to do it? I have a feeling there is another setting buried somewhere in Maya that I’m missing.

Our current solution is to work out the math and scale the timeline by 1.25 when we enter it into the import settings, but this is a sloppy solution.

Isn’t it under Preferences->Settings->Working Units->Time?

Other solution is to get bugfixed Unity 3.2 as soon as it’s out.

Thank you! That worked.
