Heyo, thanks for reading, it’s my first official post on here.
I’m a beginner when it comes to everything Unity, been only doing it for a few months during covid, and it’s my first attempt at giving the skeletal animation / character rig a go after watching Brackey’s tutorial on it.
I purchased this asset from a third-party on itch.io and well unfortunately I thought this hellish monster pack came with a basic animation per monster, but it didn’t. So I’ve spent all day trying to separate the monster pngs’ as best as I can into “layers” to then use the psd importer, but it just seems I’m having trouble making the sliced images not look separated when animating them on unity.
It’s hard for me to wrap my head around it when for example, the monsters arms are partially “under” armour or for example some of this authors monsters have tentacles that go underneath one another at some point and when trying to isolate them they just stretch because i can’t single out the one tentacle.
Additionally, when I have managed to use the skinning editor to connect bones for animating the monster, the moment I move any of the parts, you can see a disconnect from the immediate remaining of the sprite. Sometimes I can fidget with it enough to make some small bobble motion without revealing he’s obviously not connected with the torso or shoulders, as his head is floating separated from the rest of the sprite even though when I put it into my scene its a prefab, and it all looks connected together…
Never knew animation would be this tough, am i tackling “monsters” that are for the advanced? Anyways, all help is appreciated.
Here is a link for reference for what the monsters look like, they come just in pngs.
