Animation smoothness issue in a real-time walk-through scene.

Hello, I am trying to make an architectural real-time walkthrough. Everything seems to be fine - I love the workflow of the Unity which is very intuitive (compared to other products) and its 3ds max ‘integrity’. Unfortunatelly after building my first scene in Unity - I see 2 issues:

  1. Animation is very jaggy, I mean it has no smoothness compared to other package.
  2. Fullscreen option doesn’t work on my machine (I dont know if it does on others)

I suppose I do sth wrong but can’t really see in what particular place… Any help would be nice ;]

Cheers

Hi, welcome to the forum!

If the animation is created by the motion of the camera around the scene then the poor performance might indicate a problem with the camera script or possibly the scene is too complicated to be rendered with a good framerate. Architectural walkthroughs are often good candidates for occlusion culling and there are some other tips for optimising rendering performance on this manual page.

As for fullscreen, do you mean that nothing happens when you try to enable it? The option is in the player settings (menu: Edit > Project Settings > Player) under the Resolution and Presentation tab. Fullscreen in the webplayer can be enabled by right-clicking the player and choosing the option from the contextual menu.

Well, I watched and experienced the examples from showcase - the bootcamp and the tropical paradise - both have the same jaggy animation as my walkthrough…

So, for me there are 2 ways - either my machine is too slow (quad 6600, 8gb ram, nvidia 8800gs) or the engine itself does not produce smooth result… any help ?
