I am trying to work on a game and most of the time, the game’s arms are always in either idle or punching state. I am trying to test out the punching animation to make it work on my arm skeleton I edited and took from Mixamo. for some reason, when I import animations and add them to the arms/armature, they never work. When I check the animation tab, it shows that all of the components are missing.
Do I have to take the arms prefab and add the animation through blender or is there an easier solution?
I noticed that their hierarchical structures are inconsistent. Did you delete something? You need to ensure that the hierarchical structure (path) of the bound object in the clip is the same as that of the game object in the scene.
Yeah so what I did was I took a model from mixamo and removed the mesh of the body head and legs, as well as some of the armature bones.
And then I downloaded animations from mixamo without the skins and tried applying it to my arms but because I was missing some of the armature, it wouldn’t find the bones.
My question is like: Should I download the model with the animations there and then just remove the body mesh and keep the entire armature?
I searched about this on YouTube and I followed their instructions, but I couldn’t make it work on my side.
You can delete it, but you cannot affect its path. For example, if you want to run the animation of the arm, then you cannot delete any bones between the root node and the arm.
