Animations override!

Hey :). I have a simple question. I kinda know my way around with Mecanim animations and Layers now, but, my question is, can you get a Legacy animation to override a Mecanim animation? Thanks in advance :).

If your legacy animation controls different bones than your Mecanim animation, they play nicely together. I’ve done this with legacy facial animation by leaving the facial bones in the imported rig but not mapping them to the Mecanim avatar.

Unfortunately it does control bones that are involved in a Mecanim animation :(. My Legacy animation controls the bones of the hand and the bones of the hand are involved in the walking animation. Otherwise your method would’ve worked.

Do the bones of the hand have to be controlled by Mecanim? You could unassign them from the rig and make sure a legacy animation is always playing on them.

I suppose they have to, because when I unassign them from the rig, I get a warning that the “Muscle” is missing, and when I hit play the character won’t move :P.
