Animations takes are not coming

Hi,

I am doing an animation in maya and while exporting the file i want it to have more than 1 take that unity supports. But I’m not able to do it. I don’t know motionbuilder. Someone told me it is possible in maya but I can’t find it out , atleast from the help.
So, how to have more than 1 take in a single FBX file?

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a “take”?

The name for a “Take” in the Unity environment is “Animation Clip”. They are the same thing.

Have you identified the key frames for each Take in the FBXImporter pane? You have to identify each one by start and end frames. I haven’t used Maya, but I assume that somewhere in the app you can access this information.

Actually maya 2009 have a new thing called animation layers, but that too is not exporting into FBX as takes in unity. leave maya, does Max knows how to export animation takes so tht unity could read it?

I think only motionbuilder supports it but the process is very tedious.
