Animator broken in 2020.1.0a25

I am unable to move animation states around and right clicking on an animation state doesn’t give me the option to make a transition. The animator is unusable in its current state. Am I the only one this is happening to? I just submitted a bug report, but I’m at a standstill until I can use it again. I also had the same problem in 2020.1.0a24. I don’t see anyone else talking about it making me wonder if I Unity has changed the Animator in a way I can’t figure out or that I accidentally changed a setting somewhere.

I am getting the same issue. 2020.1.0a24

As a work around I have 2019.3 open at the same time to make changes and copy the file between them

just got an email from unity saying the issue is fixed in 2020.1.0a26

Did they say when they make 2020.1.0a26 public, been trying to figure out the same problem.

I reported the bug initially I believe, I don’t know how these things aren’t tested between releases or tested with automated tests for regressions, we are on the alpha channel for new tech reasons although things are bound to break I guess!

These UI regressions with the animation controller were caught internally before a25 was released but weren’t deemed severe enough to halt the release since we’re still in alpha. They’re listed in the known issues section of the release notes as cases 1218412 and 1215103.

Thanks for the explanation! I was quite worried when I noticed the UI issues although I’m pleased to hear they were caught internally

Still not working 2020.3.31f1

why is the animator broken in 2020.3.3.32f

Case 1218412 shows as being fixed, but it is still broken in 2020.3.31f1. Also the ability to edit animations is lost after the first transition from that action has been made. Details here .
