The active playing state used to show a little progress bar as the state played, but now it’s not showing that. The animations play as they’re programmed to, but the current playing state does not show the little green line. Is there a setting that I accidentally turned off?
Just make sure you select (highlight) in the hierarchy the game object where the animator is present in order to see the animation state progress.
This can happen if you don’t have the correct object selected. So, if you are using a proxy mesh, or instantiated object, make sure you select it from the hierarchy view while the game is running to see the Animator updating
