Announcing Substance Designer 3

Dear all,

We are pleased to announce the latest and greatest of our creations: Substance Designer 3, the Texturing Workshop!

We made Substance Designer 3 with one objective only in mind: making it the reference tool for texturing, whether we are talking parametric textures or mere bitmaps.

Most of Substance Designer 3’s new features are focusing on significantly boosting game developers’ productivity: we invite you to discover, for instance, this fantastic batching capability, making Substance Designer 3 a truly unique solution in the industry:

Already used by thousands of artists and high profile studios such as Big Point, Turn 10 or Naughty Dog, we are currently doing a special pre-order package for all the Unity Pro users till July 31st.

This package includes a 20% discount on Substance Designer 3 ($473 instead of $590 ; you get Substance Designer 2.5 while Substance Designer 3 is not released) + a $100 voucher to acquire additional content on our website (like the Bitmap2material J).

Just contact us (http://www.allegorithmic.com/company/contact) to benefit from it.

For regular Unity users: You will get SD 2.5 while SD3 is not released and the $100 voucher.

And those who already own Substance Designer can get the update to 3.0 for 200 USD instead of 300 USD until July 31st.

Enjoy!
Nicolas

Is mobile fixed?

Substance for Mobile is independent from Substance Designer, this is related with Unity.
We are having a beta this summer for Substance Mobile in Unity, and it should go live at the end of the year.

Running this at the same time as unity4 pre orders is not the wisest move.
Will objects with multiple materials be supported?

The new designer looks like a really nice update! I like how well it integrates in the workflow, now like the others my main target is mobile, so looking forward to that release too.

Hi Knocks,

Objects with multiple materials will not be supported in 3.0, but it’s on the list for a 3.x.

Cheers,
