Another new Unity user

Hi everyone,

I just purchased Unity Pro and very excited to finally be diving into this amazing program as well as putting my first Mac to work.

I have spent the past 2 years designing with my beloved Cinema 4D for WPF, Flux Studio and recently PV3D real time web3D delivery but have always kept returning to the Unity site, being amazed by what it and the users can do.

Glad to be here.

Welcome and congrats!

Welcome man. Enjoy your stay. Please take off your shoes before you come in.

Tkae care.

Welcome to the community and the forums. Toll is paid in the form of beer - more details in the IRC channel.

Have fun and do not hesitate to ask silly questions. The worst response you’ll get is a reference to some reading

So am I understanding correctly that you bought your first mac to run unity? If so - which one?

Hah, welcome to the forums finally!

Backstory: there were a few e-glitches in getting Neil properly in touch with us at UT and ensuring his forum account was active. He’s been a patient guy already so he’s got my respect from the get go!

 :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheers everyone for the positive welcome…

Tom, I knew it would be worth the wait and your support has been stella, so thanks for your help in getting it sorted.

AA, Unity has been on my radar since being blown away by the v2 previews came out. My wifes PC died around 4 months ago so I decided to give one of the new iMacs a try. I got the iMac 20" 2.4GHz 4GB RAM. Such a slick piece of hardware. No heat, no noise, less shutting down and the Bootcamp experience with installing XP Pro was so simple. Can find my way around OSX now but need to put more time into learning it fullly.

I would like to get a MacBook Pro 17" for myself when the new ones are released around June/July.

Welcome Neil. I’m surprised by the number of Aussies joining the forums these days. Tom - have you been recruiting down under?

We’re slowly catching on… didn’t you know the next Unity conference is in Sydney? LOL.

Neil: Nice. Working on a 15" mbp myself - 17" is not enough portability for me

Jokes aside, there probably would be enough users in Australia to pull together a conference of sorts. Don’t know the sort of numbers but I’ll put my hand up.

Hey another local…Hi Dozycow.

I’m sure the OTEE guys would love a trip down here. They might want to wait til Spring, a little warmer and I might know how to use Unity a little by then LOL.
