Another Slender-based game, but planned to be different (Plz take a look!)

Hi to all comunity!

Well, i got started in Unity a month ago until now i guess, and what i currently wish is to make my own version of this type of games (horror survival game with no possibilities of protecting yourself, only running away in the night)

But first things go first:

This game is in a very early state, i don’t even have decided a name for it yet!, but it will be acclimated in the country side…near of ‘El Chalten’, an important turistic destination in Argentina - Province of Santa Cruz (however, i’m from Rio Gallegos - same province). I don’t know if you guys are interested in places from Latin America but i thought that it would be a good idea to set the vicinity of this town as my main scene, and a bit, only a bit of real historical references into the game.

The setting of my scene is (as always) at night time, but this one will be in winter in the middle of a snowfall (which i’m trying to make as realistic as i can with my limited knowledge). The objective is to collect, well, not only papers, but i want to put other kinds of objects that will be involved as part of the plot (which I have not written yet).

Ouuu, this is important: I WANT THIS GAME TO BE MULTIPLAYER IN THE FINAL VERSION

Some other things i want to add, are:

  • Flare gun: this would allow the players to locate each other so they can regroup if they want to, and maybe, it will have a negative effect over the criature of the game.
  • Possibility to Save the game progress within levels(?): I only wish this in the ‘Easy’ difficulty mode of the game.
  • Multiple Levels: maybe 2 or 3 maximum, and i’m not sure if it is possible to program cut-scenes for multiplayer games during a session.
  • Random Spawnings: with the help of some you guys, i have (at least) the basis to spawn the collectable objects as well as the types of objetcs, the players and the criature at a list of locations, that will be selected randomly at the start of each level, so the game could be played (and even completed) more that once without getting boring too soon after the first look.

I’m planning to use my N900 camera in raw mode to take (as clear and detailed as i can) photos of myself and from some of my colleagues, and use those photos to facilitate the creation of the players 3D models using Autodesk 123Catch (maybe too ambitious…we’ll see if that’s possible :P). Also, the use Unity Clothes for more realistic look.

Currently i don’t have (as i said) any history to represent into my test scene, it’s only the common stereotype in which one tries to collect 8 pages and you are supposed to win the game (in this case, it plays a short inspirational melody but nothing else), and obviously, when you run out of health, a basic blood effect at the edges of the screen and the consequent switch to a Game Over scene. But hey…don’t think bad about this! it’s only a test after all!, just take a look and let me know what you think:

(Sorry about the quality…, my computer isn’y very good, the actual resolution was 800x600 at ‘Good’ quality settings)

NOTES ABOUT THE TEST SHOWED IN THE VIDEO:

_Don’t spend attention to the ‘slendy-like thing’ i used as monster in the video :P, i will replace it for something more original in the future.
_I wanted the possible locations where pages would spawn to be obvious and easy to find (just lights) in this case because i didn’t wanted the search to take too long.

Sorry, i noticed a bit late that the first try of the video was corrupted, i reuploaded it, now yo can see it beyond 0:14!

Wow! Looks really good! I am making a “Slender-like-but-not-slender”-game too, for Android. Its called Flashback. (Not published yet)
