So you’re saying unity3d.com is a spoofed domain not owned by Unity? I don’t get it.
report here for any security issues,
looks like cert is expired at least… (but it is real unity site for hosting their files with OwnCloud)
ok. good. thanks.
What exactly did you whois check? I checked “unity3d.com” and I get this:
Registrant Organization: Unity Technologies SF
Registrant State/Province: CA
Registrant Country: US
Registrant Email: Select Request Email Form at https://domains.markmonitor.com/whois/unity3d.com
Admin Organization: Unity Technologies SF
Admin State/Province: CA
Admin Country: US
Admin Email: Select Request Email Form at https://domains.markmonitor.com/whois/unity3d.com
Tech Organization: Unity Technologies SF
Tech State/Province: CA
Tech Country: US
Note that you don’t need to individually register subdomains (xx.unity3d.com), which is likely why it doesn’t come up in a whois search. For instance, doign a whois on “docs.unity3d.com” also comes up blank. The registered domain name is just the “unity3d.com” part, and subdomains are typically handled by the server afterwards.
That doesn’t make spoofing impossible, of course.
Nope. Specific, because details matter, but not angry.
It was just a play on your name. I’m glad I was mistaken about the spoof. Better than the alternative.
I thought so, but just making sure.
